Programme of JENAM 2005: 'Distant Worlds'

The JENAM 2005 will take place in Liège, Belgium, from 4 to 7 July 2005.

The mornings will be devoted essentially to plenary talks, with several 50min conferences each morning. These talks introduce the 5 subjects discussed in more depth during the afternoon sessions. These subjects are :

On wednesday 6 July 2005 are organized a roundtable and a parallel session on European Cooperation and Projects in Astronomy and one parallel session on education (entitled " Astrophysics, and how to attract young people into Physics"). The EAS general assembly will also take place that same day, from 11h45 to 12h30.

Poster sessions and short talks of 20 min each will take place concerning each of these subjects. Click on the links above for the detailed program for each theme. A preliminary program, organized day by day, can be found below.

In addition, several specific events will also be organized :

  • July 6, 2005, 11h45-12h30 : EAS General Assembly
  • July 6, 2005, 10h30-12h30 : press meeting on comet impact and astrobiology

as well as two extensions on July 8, 2005:

Finally, as Astronomy is a science that always fascinates the public at large, the latter will also be welcome at the JENAM during a few outreach events.
