1.2. Getting to Liège from Brussels National Airport    (Top)

      Liège is located in the french speaking part of Belgium, 100 km East of Brussels.

  •       We strongly recommend to use the train - Airport City Express (every twenty minutes) which travels between Brussels-National-Airport and Brussels-Nord Station. It takes about 15 minutes to get from Brussels National Airport to Brussels-Nord Station.

          At Brussels-Nord Station change for the train to Liège-Guillemins Station. The ticket should be bought at the National Airport Station, the cost of the ticket is about 415 BEF (10.29 EUR). The trains to Liège are every half hour.

  •       Liège is located at the crossroads of some of Europe's most important highways. Please pay attention to the fact that "Liège" may also be spelled "Luik" in Dutch or "Lüttich" in German.

  • By Bus

  •       The bus network covers the whole city. All buses are operated by a driver and you are requested to get in from the front door and get off from the rear door. You may request to stop at the next bus stop by pushing the yellow button at the window pillar. When getting in, you have to pay to the bus driver the fees for the ticket (40 BEF (0.99 EUR)).

          The average temperature in July is 22 ± 3ºC. Rain showers are frequent.

    2.1. Welcome drink    (Top)

          A welcome drink will be offered on the conference site on Sunday July 4, from 16:00 to 20:00 in the Main Hall of the Observatory. No collective transport will be available on this day. Please, be aware that buses to Cointe are every 40 minutes on week-ends. The participants will also receive the final conference program and other relevant documents, badge, meal tickets, etc...


    2.2. Computer Facilities    (Top)

          E-mail access will be provided. Details will be given later.


    2.3. Presentations of Papers    (Top)

    Facilities for Oral Presentations

          The conference room will be equiped with two overheads, a slide projector and a portable microphone. A video monitor will be available for oral presentations. Those who want to use it are requested to notify the Local Organizing Committee when submitting the abstracts. Videos recorded on normal-sized VHS cassettes can be displayed. The projector can also be driven from a computer (e.g. your personal laptop; restriction 220V-50Hz).

    Poster

          A room for poster presentations will be reserved. The poster board for a paper will be 100 cm x 100 cm. (40" x 40")


    2.4. Registration Desk    (Top)

          A registration desk will be open from Sunday afternoon, July 4 through Thursday afternoon, July 8.


    2.5. Social Programme    (Top)

          All receptions are free of charge for registered participants as well as for the accompanying persons.
