Summary

Since the early of Professor Paul Ledoux in the fourties, stellar stability has been an important and active research subject at the Institute of Astrophysics and Geophysics of the Univerty of Liège. Courses on stellar stability are offered to graduate students in astrophysics.

The theoretical analysis of stellar stability aims at explaining the variations observed in numerous stars. It is the only way to obtain informations about the internal structure of stars, providing thus an interesting test of stellar evolution.
